Mozambic ebony

Mozambic Ebony (Dalbergia melanoxylon or African Grenadilla) is a dense, hard, lustrous tropical wood with colours ranging from dark burgundy to black. It is mainly used by violin and wind instrument makers because of its excellent acoustic properties and its near impermeability to moisture.
