
Serpent wood
Serpent wood (Marmoroxylon racemosum) is a precious wood endemic to the Guyanese forest. The handle is composed of large, deep yellow fibres, marbled with large irregular brown spots reminiscent of a snake's scales. This precious and rare wood grows exclusively in primary forests.
